MUST-HAVES/Life Changing Makeup Brushes (low and high-end)

Hey guys! Here is a list of brushes that have changed my makeup game!!! I use these brushes everyday without fail. I have used MANY brushes and many high-end and low-end brands. These are tried-and-true. Let me know in the comments if there are any staples that I must try.

Makeup Geek Brush – Pencil Brush

Cost: $7.99

Why it’s so amazing: First off, ALL Makeup Geek products are amazing! But seriously….there is nothing on the market like this brush. It is so small, so dense and so precise.

How I use it: I like to use it for adding/smudging out shadow to my lower lash line. It works well for the inner corner highlight. It’s also works well to add eyeshadow on top of your eyeliner to set it in place.

Morphe M441 – PRO FIRM BLENDING CREASE

Where to buy: Morphe Click here  or Amazon has it in stock Click here

Cost: $5.99 (out of stock but keep checking back) ** $12.89 on Amazon

Why it’s so amazing: This is another brush that changed my makeup game like crazy!! When I first got it I though there is no way this is going to be good for blending eyeshadow, but holy titties…it is a brush sent from heaven!! The way it is tapered and the way it blends, it just fits perfectly in my crease and above my crease for the perfect transition.

However I bought this brush over a year ago and bought it again and I feel like the new one I have isn’t as tapered. Has anyone else had that problem??

How I use it:. After I apply my lid color and brow bone color I take a transition shade or a medium toned shadow and blend it in a windshield wiper motion back and forth to get the perfect blended look.

e.l.f. Contouring Brush

Where to buy: Click here

Cost: $6.00

Why it’s so amazing: I feel like a lot of contouring brushes like this are a lot alike. So the reason why this one is so great is because it is cheap!! Yeah it is cheap but the quality kick ass!! It has the same quality as high-end brushes like my Lorac contour brush.

How I use it:. This brush definitely gives you that sharp chiseled contour. But I like to use a powdered contour shade from Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette apply it below my cheekbones starting from my ears to the middle of my cheeks, then I take a blush brush and blend it all out.

e.l.f. Ultimate Blending Brush

Where to buy: Click here

Cost: $6.00

Why it’s so amazing: Here is a little backstory on what made me love this brush. I bought the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup because everyone always talks about how amazing it was. Well I didn’t like it at first. I tried applying it with my finger, beauty blender and the Sigma Flat Top Kabuki brush and none of them made me love that foundation until I tried this brush!! I have no idea what it is about this brush but it blends foundation out so smooth and airbrushed. The top is round and so dense that it just spreads the foundation out so nicely. Plus the price is unbeatable!

How I use it: I put a few pumps of foundation on the back of my hand and pick up with the brush and then buff it onto my face.

Morphe M438 – POINTED CONTOUR

Where to buy: Click here  or Amazon has it in stock Click here

Cost: $10.00 (out of stock but keep checking back) ** $17.96 on Amazon

Why it’s so amazing: This has changed my undereye setting game!!! This is one brush that I could NOT live without. Since I have started using this brush my concealer doesn’t crease like it did before. Plus the shape of it fits perfectly in my undereye socket area.

How I use it:. After I apply my concealer and blend it out I take this brush and dip it into a loose powder like the Ben Nye Luxury Powder and tap/pat it onto my undereye like a mini “baking” session. After 5-10 mins I use the same brush to dust off the excess powder.

Sigma F25 – Tapered Face Brush

Where to buy: Click here

Cost: $33.00

Why it’s so amazing: It is soft and big and tapered. I don’t know what it is but I love tapered brushes. I feel like they get in the grooves of the face so well. This brush picks up setting powder and places it perfectly on the face.

How I use it:. After I am done with my foundation I like to take a loose powder like NARS Light Reflecting Loose Powder and sweep it across the face to set my foundation.  This also works well with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders.

up & up™ Powder Brush

Cost: $6.99

Why it’s so amazing: This is the perfect powder brush, it’s large and fluffy. It picks up pressed powder so well and spreads it evenly on the face. The size is perfect – it’s not too big and not small.

How I use it:. I swirl the big fluffy brush around in my pressed powder and blend it over my whole face.
