When I saw a picture of this palette I knew I needed it in my life! I love the packaging and all of the colors inside this palette. Some of the holiday palettes in the past haven’t been so great and I was curious how this one would be. I previously reviewed the new Holiday 2016 Too Faced Grand Hotel Palette – click here to read it. I will quickly say that those eyeshadows were good but there were a few that weren’t as good.
As far as this palette goes, there are also some hits and misses in this one. For the most part they are pretty much hits though. You can see from the swatches below which shades aren’t as pigmented, Cookie Dough is the worst shade out of all of them – it doesn’t even swatch. Most of the matte shades are really nice and the foiled-type shades are very pigmented – as you can see from the bright turquoise blue color. The shades that suck are the really glittery shades. I have always hated the glitter shades in most Too Faced palettes.
The bronzer and blush are awesome! The highlighter is a beautiful shade but it feels a little dry and it’s more of a subtle highlight glow, which I like.
This set also comes with deluxe-sized Melted Chocolate Liquified Long Wear, Better Than Sex Mascara, and Shadow Insurance eye shadow primer. The Melted Chocolate lipstick is not my favorite color, it’s a brownish color and those shades don’t look good on me. I have a million deluxe samples of the Better Than Sex Mascara and Shadow Insurance eye shadow primer, so I am sick of seeing those in the palettes. I know for some people they like them, but for me..I don’t need anymore .
I feel like this set is worth it. The shadows and beautiful (except for a few shades) and you get a good amount of products for your money.
I would say this year their holiday palettes are better than the past few years.
