Is this a dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder? When I first saw this I immediately thought it looked very similar to the Ambient Lighting Powder so I was very curious to try it out.  I bought mine from Ulta.

Two distinct finishes give your complexion an effortlessly fresh – not flat – look. Matte absorbs oil and is the perfect setting powder while Glow, infused with rose gold pearls, adds sheer luminosity for highlighting and strobing. Developed to instantly vanish on all skin tones, these advanced blurring powders diffuse the look of pores and imperfections. This duo of ultra-fine translucent powders features unique baked technology, creating a creamy, cushioned formula with a luxurious feel.

BareMinerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo

Review:

So when I got BareMinerals Powder I thought the colors were gorgeous and brightening. As I swatched them on my arms the Matte colors felt the exact same way as the NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder. It is a very nice translucent powder.  In the swatch it looks white because I layered it on but once you sweep it across the skin it makes your skin look flawless. The Matte color really mattifies everything, smooths your pores out and makes the skin look amazing. I love using this as a setting powder.

The Glow color is just as amazing. It has the perfect amount of subtle glow to the skin. It makes you look like you are glowing from within. It isn’t too shimmery, it is just nice and glowy. That is the only way I can explain it. It was hard to capture it in a picture swatch but on the skin it is amazing. The Glow shade reminds me of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light. See my swatches below – they look very similar.

I honestly feel like these two shades could be dupes for the NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Ethereal Light. They give the skin the same effect and it’s more inexpensive. So that’s a win win in my book. I will say though, that the BareMinerals Powders aren’t nearly as silky and creamy feeling as the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder. I  swear, there is nothing out there that can get that smooth.

I think this is definitely worth the buy!!!
